I was deeply moved by Sabrina Tafuro’s painting the moment I saw it. It spoke directly to the dancer within me, a part of myself that has been dormant for some time. The image of the dancer, sitting in her tutu and leotard, holding a paintbrush, with her head bowed and face hidden, resonated with the unspoken emotions and creative energy I’ve carried with me. The bucket of paint at her side, the red roses from her performance on the floor—everything in the painting felt like a reflection of a moment suspended in time, where art and movement meet in stillness.
Since hanging this painting in my lounge, I see her every day, and with each passing glance, I am invited into a space of introspection. The painting stirs something deeply personal, as if the dancer’s quiet posture mirrors my own moments of reflection. It’s as though she is on the edge of creating something new, yet pausing to gather strength from the experiences that have shaped her—much like my own journey as a former dancer and performer.
Through this artwork, I have begun to reconnect with parts of myself that I hadn’t fully realized needed revisiting. The contemplative nature of the dancer has inspired me to explore my own path of transformation, to honor the silence and stillness in which growth often occurs. The healing I’ve experienced since has been profound, as I’ve come to acknowledge both the artist and the dancer within me, their journeys intertwined. I am grateful for Sabrina’s ability to capture such a moment of introspection and offer it to those of us who need to pause, reflect, and heal.

Vill tacka för de här terminerna. Det har varit stimulerande, lärorikt och kul. Du är en sån härlig person. Du har delat med dig av dina kunskaper men kunde även säga “det är du som bestämmer det är din tavla”. Du uppmuntrar, coachar, utmanar oss. Du har fått mig att våga prova det som ligger utanför min comfortzon. Typ abstrakt måleri. Du har uppmanat till “att sluta pilla”. Ta ett steg tillbaka och vänta…. Som sagt det har varit kul att få lära känna dig och de andra deltagarna. Tack än en gång och ha en härlig sommar.

Vilka härliga veckor jag har haft på min kurs hos Sabrina och vilken inspiration man får hos henne.
Sabrina har ett väldigt lätt sätt att lära ut och ser från varje individ och dess nivå av kunskap i sitt målande hur man kan utvecklas, ge tips, råd och kunna lyfta eleven och se sitt målande från ett annat perspektiv.
Jag hade inte målat olja på många år och hade inga förväntningar alls men blev otroligt inspirerad och är otroligt nöjd med mina veckor hos Sabrina.
